    Buying Budget Prom Dress

Buying a dream prom dress is always the priority for the prom event, but have you ever thought that it can completely squeeze your budget. A formal prom for a black tie event can be quite expensive. Be a smart shopper and borrow it from some close family member of friend. If that won’t work, a new formal dress can cost you less, depending on the place you pick one. You can always hunt for thrift stores, discount outlets or online clothing stores where you can get versatile off the rack dress in decent amount which you can wear again and again in any formal events.

    Accessories for Prom

Do you have right shoes? Before choosing the dress, think about some matching shoes already with you. Do you have a pair of black, gold or other neutral-colored shoes in your closet that can work for your Prom night. If so, then you can limit one more major expense! If not, then you need not spend a fortune on a strappy pair that will get you through the night. Think about some bargain shoe outlet or any discount online store for serving the purpose.

Now again follow the cost cutting regime when it comes to hair clips, jewelry or fancy handbags. Borrow it from your relatives, friends or your own mom if something matching is lying with them. If that’s not an option, then go ahead for jewels and other accessories at a low-cost costume-jewelry store. If you make your mind to invest in a nice necklace or pair of earrings, be sure to pick something you will be able to wear for years to come.

    Make Over, Hair and nails

Now it’s the time to think for your make over expense including nails and hair. You could easily drop $150 or more if you go for a professional make over. You can do your make up, hair and nails with your friends together and keep away this expense. Beside this your hair can cost you anywhere from $40 to $80 depending on the type of hair style you want, and the cost varies from simpler to exceptional hair do. It is always better to have a trial run before finalizing on any hair style, as it should suit your personality and dress. You can choose for getting a salon makeover the day of the glamorous prom, but need to pump out extra money for the big night. You need to shell $40 to $75 for looking the prettiest lady that night. But do a trial run for makeup too and test your looks before hand.

Now come to nail down the nails, so first you need to rush to salon for manicure and pedicure or use our handy tips to do it all at home. Doing your nails yourself can be a fun with your friends, so pamper them, paint them and further festoon them, whatever you wish to do.

    Prom Tickets

Don’t miss to count the expenses on prom tickets. It can range from $50 to $120 per person depending on the venue be it a country club or a chain hotel. The cost of the prom tickets varies from one region to the other. On the other hand, if your prom includes just dancing and no dinner, tickets will be less expensive. But then, of course, you’ll have to spare for your own dinner, which can make up the difference. And hey, if it just so happens that he’s paying for the tickets, don’t even worry about this one!

    Hiring a Limo

Going to a prom on a limo with your friends and their dates can be a complete fun but it depends on you, whether to rent a limo or not? But with minimum four hours and tips it can turn up for an expensive luxury. Still you can always divide the total cost estimate among the maximum number of friends, but ideally the total can be up to $400. If that is too much then you and your friends can go for a party bus or explore the possibility of borrowing a good car from your parents or relatives.

    His Boutonniere

You are going to receive a gorgeous, fragrant corsage, so why should not you get your date a little lapel flower! Don’t wait until the last minute to order flowers, do it a week before. Roses are the most popular choice for boutonnieres but there are many other fashionable options. Go for carnations as they are little less expensive, while orchids can be costly. If you are not feeling picky, go simple and save.

    Photograph Memoirs

You can save on photos as a formal prom portraits can be nice to have, but they can cost $25 to $75 depending on the size and number of prints you buy. Instead you can use digital cameras which are small and handy and can easily slip in to purse and you can click hundreds of rare moments for that memorable night. But you can also choose to get formal photos and use your own camera as well. Hey, that’s cool too.

    Skin Care

Skin is the truth that needs care no matter your age or skin type. But no need to break in worry, just follow this skin care regimen along with proper diet and find your skin glowing with confidence. Relax take no stress, and be assured that there will be no zits to worry you at all on your very special prom event. But the stress and constant worry for weeks on end can make it all happen. So keep skin clean, nourished and pampered and it will respond in gratitude and you will reap the benefits.

Before you start with the proper skincare routine, you’ll need to know your skin type. How you care for your skin is utterly dependent on the type of skin you have: oily, normal/combination, dry, sensitive or sun- damaged. It’s important to start early with a good face/skin routine to help ensure good skin on your exceptional night. Follow these tips to take care of your skin properly, from the right way to wash your face, to the best moisturizers & UV protection:

    • Cleansing is the first step to skin protection. Use a good cleanser and stick on it. Most cleansers contain oil, water & surfactants. The oil dissolves oil on your face, surfactants dissolve dirt & makeup & the water washes it all away. Also be careful about over-cleansing your skin.
    • Gentle exfoliation is the most important thing you can do for bright glowing skin. Exfoliate your face with a mild scrub once a week to remove dry flakes and dead cells. The secret to exfoliating is to make way for new skin cells by getting rid of dead skin cells allowing skin to absorb more moisture for that youthful radiant appearance.
    • Moisturizing is the most essential law of beauty. No matter your skin type, you should moisturize it regularly except those with acne. Moisturizers attract moisture and draw it into the skin to plump skin cells. Avoid too much moisturizing as it can cause pore clogging.
    • Apply sunscreen to avoid sun damage causing wrinkles. So it’s important to use sunscreen from your early years even in winter & cloudy days. It is advisable to buy 2 moisturizers: one for nighttime & one for daytime with UV protection. Don’t use moisturizers with sunscreen at night, as the ingredients are not meant to be used 24/7 & can damage the skin. When choosing a sunscreen, make sure it contains 1 of 3 ingredients as an ‘active ingredient’: titanium dioxide, zinc oxide or Parsol 1789 (avobenzene).
    • Use eye creams to avoid pre mature wrinkles near eyes. Some beauty experts strongly recommend eye creams as the eye area contains no fatty tissue as it is very thin & susceptible to wrinkles. These special eye creams are formulated to ‘thicken’ this area & keep it sturdy.
    • Drink ample water , be an H2O Fanatic and have at least eight glasses of water a day to ensure healthy cleansing, inside and outside.
    • Take Vitamin E pill, once a day to help repair and rejuvenate skin.
    • Moisturize Lips daily using moisturizing balms or chap sticks.
    • Avoid heavy make up in case you have a great skin and allow your natural beauty to radiate.
    • Use body wash/scrub for the entire body when you take shower. Lather up a loofah and use it at elbows, knees and heels. You can use a scrub with a mild exfoliate for dry areas or mix a packet of raw sugar with a few drops of olive oil and rub this mixture in a circular motion over dry areas, such as elbows and then rinse with warm water.

    Hand And Feet Care

    Hand Care: Manicure

Hands and nails are vital in defining the overall beauty of women. Imagine women dressed like a princess in upscale sophistication has dirty nails with rough edges. She will paint a negative and unhygienic picture where ever she goes. So besides dressing, make up and hair dos you also need to draw some attention to your hands and feet. You need to follow some manicure basics to add an edge to your personality, this prom.

    Hand Care

    1. Remove the existing nail polish using a cotton ball soaked in good quality nail polish remover.
    2. File your nails with an emery board for proper shape. Don’t use a clipper. Nails should be filed straight up at the sides, and not inward. The thinner your nail, the finer should be your emery board.
    3. Apply cuticle softener at the edges of the nails and massage gently.
    4. Soak your fingers in warm soapy water and dissolve a tablet of denture cleanser into the water if your fingers are discolored or dirty.
    5. Use a cuticle pusher/cutter to push the cuticle back and clean them. Sometimes it is necessary to remove dead cuticle or hangnails with small scissors or cuticle nippers.
    6. Massage moisturizer all over your hands thoroughly.
    7. Remove any excess of oil with a cotton ball and an astringent (like witch hazel or lemon juice). This is necessary to allow nail polish to go on smoothly without bubbling.
    8. Apply a base nail coat and allow plenty of drying time (at least 30 minutes).

Brush on another coat of nail paint once base coat dries.

    Feet Care: Pedicure

Now it’s time for your feet to shine and glow. Foot care is essential and hygienic protocol to look smart and confident. It’s even more important in prom when you will prefer to wear those strappy stilettos and tap your toes. Follow this simple home pedicure, all you will need: – a foot file, tissue, polish, polish remover, and shower gel for soaking.

    Feet Care

    1. Remove any old polish you may have on your toenails from you last pedicure.
    2. Soak your feet in shower gel and water to soften for about 5-10 minutes.
    3. Separate your toes with tissue.
    4. Dry your foot and apply the cuticle remover at the base of each nail. Wait one minute for the remover to soften the cuticle.
    5. Use the wedged end of the cuticle pusher to push the cuticle back. If desired, carefully snip off the excess cuticle. Repeat this procedure on the other foot.
    6. Apply remover to eliminate all oils.
    7. File toenails in a square shape by running the file vertically over the nail. Use the nail buffer to smooth any roughness or ridges on the surface of the nails.
    8. Wet the pumice stone in the water. Rub any areas of dry or flaking skin gently with the pumice stone. Rinse the foot and dry. You may also use skin-buffing sponge instead of the pumice stone.

Apply a base coat and let it dry (at least 30 minutes). It is to prevent discoloring your nails and then apply the final nail polish and allow it to dry.

    HAIR REMOVAL

Hair removal plays an essential part in the prom preparation itinerary. It is the must to complete your look. But to choose for a professional hair remover or to do it on your own is what ultimately matters. Anyways you can try it out few weeks before your dream promenade.

    WAXING

It is necessary to wax your arms and legs and other body parts which you feel necessary depending on your selected prom dress. Waxing gives a smooth and elegant feel by removing unnecessary hairs from the root. It is possible for you to wax your legs at home, but just like many other cosmetic procedures, a professional has more experience and can do the job in a fast and a better way. There are chances to get struck while waxing the back leg. If you still want to wax at home, it is better to practice well in advance of the prom! Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, bikini area, legs, arms, back, abdomen and feet.

    EYE BROWS

Discovering the best shape for your eyebrows without sacrificing their natural appearance is what you should accomplish when shaping your brows. In many ways, the overall appearance of the eye area is defined by the arch, length, and thickness of the eyebrow. K eep in mind that your eyebrows can affect your whole expression so it should not be too small to make you look bitter or too high for you to look constantly shocked. A good way to determine your brow shape will be to simply see what looks good on others. Look through a few current fashion magazines and see what brow shapes look good on faces that are shaped like yours. Get your brows done professionally as it cannot be done on your own.

    FACIAL HAIR REMOVAL

Consult a dermatologist for the best method of facial hair removal. Facial skin is very sensitive and needs to be handled with utmost care to avoid any damage.

    Shaving

The razor is the best method for easy hair removal. It is quick, easy, and inexpensive. You can choose from a number of shavers available. Shave in the shower as the warm water open pores and softens the hair follicle, priming the skin making shaving more comfortable. You can use some good shaving creams with aloe for smooth shaving.

    Depilatory Creams

Creams are a good temporary solution. But many women complain their hair to be coarse and hence find it difficult to be removed using cream. Whatever the case be it is best to use this technique of hair removal well in advance of prom night.

    Electrolysis

Electrolysis and Laser Hair Removal methods are intense form of hair removal methods. Electrolysis is a way of removing individual hairs from the face or body. Today’s medical electrolysis devices, called epilators, destroy the growth center of the hair with a short-wave radio frequency. A very fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle at the surface of the skin. The hair is then removed harmlessly with forceps. Both methods are good, but in many cases the procedure needs to be repeated a few times to remove hair permanently. Also both these methods can be a bit heavy to your pockets.
